Self-explanatory. Post about games you played and enjoyed, but never got around to finishing for one reason or another.
For me, the biggest example is Chrono Cross. I love Chrono Trigger and have beaten it many times, but I've never been able to beat Chrono Cross. In fact, most of the time when I play Chrono Cross I wound up restarting the game rather than continuing my old save, because I take long breaks between plays. I think I've started the game over at least three times now. The farthest I've ever gotten is Terra Tower, which from what I understand is just about at the end of the game, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to finish.
In a similar vein, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I am literally at the final dungeon of the game, but I don't feel motivated to finish it at all, even though I feel bad to say I've never beaten the game. Actually, I have never beaten several of the Zelda games, despite being at the very end. I've never beaten Link's Awakening or A Link to the Past, even though they're two of my favorites in the series. It's something I hate admitting because so many people I know have beaten these games, but I haven't.
Actually, looking at my library of PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games, I haven't beaten a good chunk of them. I've only beaten one of the four PSX games I own (Final Fantasy IX) and the others (Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Tactics, and the aforementioned Chrono Cross) remain unbeaten, despite having been played quite a bit. Okami is a really fun game, but it's also very, very long, so that's part of the reason I've never beaten it. Dragon Quest VIII is the most unfortunate case, since like with the Zelda examples I was at the last boss. But unlike the Zelda examples, the reason I stopped playing wasn't a lack of interest. My brother lost the PS2 memory card, and with it, all of our save data. So that means that if I want to beat Dragon Quest VIII, I'll have to play through the entire game again. And while I really like the game, I haven't once felt the desire to play through it again.
So what about you guys? Are there any games you particularly regret never beating?
